I had a baby about two months ago, and ever since I gave birth, I have noticed a significant increase in the amount of hair I am losing. It has become a problem, because now I am very self conscious about it, and I feel like I need help on how to deal with the loss. I am wondering if anybody else has had similar experiences with post partum hair loss, and how did you cope with it? Do you have any advice for somebody who is dealing with this for the first time?

I’m only 14, and I used to have shiny, healthy hair. Somewhere along puberty I got severe dandruff which just wouldn’t go away regardless of whatever shampoo and medication I tried. With the dandruff came greasy hair and slight hair loss, but it wasn’t too bad. Somehow the dandruff and greasiness went away, but the rate of hair loss increased rapidly.

I still look OK because my hair is quite thick, but the amount of hair on my bedroom floor is really scary. What could have brought on the sudden hair loss? Is there anything I can do about it?

I am a 20 year old boy from goa-india and i am having trouble with my hair. My hair is naturally very soft smooth but there has been tremendous increase in hair loss for past year.My hair started to fall maybe about 3 years ago but it was just minor but now suddenly it is at a very fast rate.My hair is perfect on the side parts and also behind the head and also on the front of head but the problem is on top of the head or middle of the head and around crown of the head. That’s where i am losing lots of hair. What should i do to stop it? What is the reason for the hair loss? How can i regrowth the hair? I have recently showed it to a dermatologist who has told me to use MINTOP FORTE(MINOXIDIL TOPICAL SOLUTION USP 5%).He has told me that it is a slow process and it would take around 4 months to see the regrowth effect but he didn’t told me reason for the hair loss.Is the solution prescribed by the Dermatologist an ideal and perfect for me? Is it a good solution for hair problems?

I’ve always had very thick hair, thank goodness. I’ve let my hair grow and have it colored/highlighted about every 5-6 weeks, but I’ve done that for years. I can run my hand through my hair and come up with 20 to 50 hairs in my fingers and I’m not pulling hard. My brush is full after brushing my hair once. When I would pull my hair back in a ponytail it was very thick and lots to work with, but now it’s only about 3/4 inch in diameter. I don’t pull it back anymore for fear that that is one of the problems. I am not taking any new medication and there doesn’t seem to be a logical reason for the hair loss. My mother said it was seasonal shedding, but I’ve never had it like this ever! I have it trimmed just a little each time to prevent split ends damaging my hair. Can anyone help? Any suggestions? I would appreciate any reasonable solution.

Also, are there any proven natural remedies to control or rid of this condition? Any harm in using those tar shampoos over a long period of time? I am hesistant to do anything which will cause hair loss and am scared if I don’t that the seborrheic dermatitis will itself cause hair loss. I also have it on face now :( Any sufferers know how to control this?

Living in Vietnam finding it hard to get good vetinary advice.

Recently had a 3-4 month old puppy which spent lots of time with my friends dog (same age). My dog became ill starting with: eye infection, green gunk in eyes hair loss around eyes, then became lethargic and lost her appetite.

At this point I took her to the animal doctor. After 3 days of injections she began frothing at the mouth. After 4 more days of intermitent, but increasingly common frothing bouts, i gave the dog to the animal doctor for 2 days observation. After this she determined the dog to be crazy advised she be put down.

Unfortunately, testing for rabies wasn’t an option. I’m not totally convinced that it was rabies: she wasn’t aggresive till the fourth day of frothing was still drinking small amounts of water till the end.

My friends dog which used to socialise with my dog is now showing similar symptoms with hair loss around the eyes green gunk and mild lethargy. What to do?

My husband hates wigs…I can’t afford expensive weaves.
What can I do to best deal with hair loss along my front hairline? (I was already told this is normal post-partum hair loss and that it will grow back over time.) Currently, I am wearing twists and have been wearing headbands to cover up the short hair spots.

Is it true that moving your scalp in circular motions with your fingertips reduces hair loss? This hair stylist told me that moving your scalp with fingertips in circular motions will reduce the hair loss and strength the hair, because tight scalp is bad for your hair, by moving it you keep the blood flowing to the hair follicles . I just want to know if this is true?
